Founded by Michele Casadei Massari, Alberto Ghezzi and Luca Filicori. Lucciola pays homage to their hometown of Bologna - mainly its cuisine and it's wonderful cinematic history. They worked together to bring this city to life in New York City. The food, atmosphere, and overall concept of Lucciola takes inspiration from the film, "Festa di Laurea," directed by Pupi Avati. The restaurant reflects the nostalgic and romantic mood of Bologna that Avati depicted in the film, especially his famous courtyard scene, where the simple illumination was reminiscent of fireflies. Lucciola can be found at 621 Amsterdam Ave (corner with 90th), just down the street from Central Park. This is one of the most famous firefly spots in New York City.
