It is a suburb of Atlanta, located approximately 30 miles (50 km) northeast of downtown and neighbors Suwanee, Dacula, and Duluth. Incorporated on December 15, 1821, exactly three years to the day after the formation of Gwinnett County, Lawrenceville is the oldest city in Gwinnett, and second oldest city in Metro Atlanta.
